DM Lalitpur Manvendra Singh achieves National Award for saving Odi river from vanishing

Union Minister Honorable Mr.  Nitin Gadkari has recently awarded the National Water Award to District Magistrate of Lalitpur, Manvendra Singh in Delhi for the work of revival of the Odi River  and the restoration of water resources in Uttar Pradesh district.

This award has been given to DM Manvendra Singh for two different categories (revival of the River Odi and the revival of water sources).  On getting, ‘National award for reviving the Odi River in Lalitpur district, the District Collector has got major identity for saving the river from getting vanishes.

After getting the revival of Odi River in the district many local farmers are getting enough water for irrigation. The DM Manvendra Singh explains, “In the first district, farmers had to bear huge losses due to non-availability of water for irrigation,

“But after the work of reviving the Odi River, the water stream has returned to into river and because of this farmers use to get water from river for irrigation of crop for two to three time.”

The reviving work of Odi River in the district and the restoration of revival of its water resources, the District Magistrate Manvendra Singh received the guidance of Raju Rajendra Singh who has been a recipient of the ‘Ramon Magsaysay Award’.

With the help of this, water conservation has been done at a large scale in the district, due to which it has been possible to revive the Odi river.
